Sleep is absolutely necessary for human life. Almost every living creature requires some little bit of sleep to recharge for the next day ahead. As we slumber, different stages of sleep occur. And whether or not we wake up in the correct stage determines whether we feel rested the next day.
I for one am an extremely light sleeper and almost never feel rested the next day. Even though I’ve slept a solid 8 hours, I usually feel like I’m in a daze throughout the day. There is an amazing amount of complex activity that occurs during the sleep stages. It’s amazing that our recharging process is so intricate! Interpret today’s infographic to your liking, and maybe you’ll able to understand your bodies sleeping process better than before, I know I sure did!
We got tired of counting sheep and wanted to learn more about the one-third of our lives spent asleep, so we did a little digging with our friend and New Zealander, Nemanja Stanar, on the basics of sleep science. It turns out there’s more to sleep than just closing your eyes and waiting for the Sandman (we had never heard of “sleep hygiene” before!), so we put together our findings and some interesting statistics in this little infographic to help spread the knowledge.
Check it out and share it with your audience – it’s a great way to spend a sleepless night!
