So how much would the 12 days of Christmas cost if you could actually buy all the items in the song? Well, a rough estimate would be$25,431.18, but that might not include the cost of fines for eating Her Majesty's protected swans ! The gold rings would be a welcome present, but it might be difficult to keep a herd of cows in the back garden for the maids-a-milking, not to mention the problem of finding a pond for the swans to swim in
! You guys. This. Has. To. Be. The cutest infographic. EVER. Basically just as cute as emphasizing words with periods! And, let’s be real. I am all about the cute and holiday combination. I jam out to that stuff! The song that inspires this infographic used to be one of my favorites when I was a wee little one. I guess you could call me a romantic because I was incredibly fond of the idea of a true love giving me things. So, this infographic is both nostalgic (for me, at least) and clever.

But it really is pretty crazy how much our cost of living has increased here in the U.S. Sure part of the rise in cost has to do with inflation, but it’s also because we ask more from the world. I hope that we will be able to recognize the effects of our materialistic lifestyles on animals such as the geese and swans in this infographic! The holiday season is the perfect—and perhaps most impactful—time to be aware of our ecological impact.
